Blending Magic and Science:
ARROZ INSTITUTE FOR WIZARDING SCIENCES

There I stood, blinking, dizzy, bewildered, and clutching a rubber ducky, surrounded by the most amazing architecture I have ever seen. Glorious buildings towered around me, some ancient, some very modern, and all apparently deserted . . . but were they? I gathered my wits and began to investigate my surroundings, and while I saw not a solitary human being, muggle or otherwise, all the while I had a very strong feeling of being watched. I suspect Invisibility Cloaks are part of the uniform at what I have now determined was Arroz Institute for Wizarding Sciences, somewhere in Texas--and in fact, the very source of the owl activity that I had sought.

Following are some of the remarkable architectural features I observed as I made my way very cautiously around this unique campus.

I entered through this golden gateway
and turned to the right, down a corrdor.

Looking back toward the golden gate.

Evidence that the owl is venerated at this institution is apparent on almost every building.

Portraits of famous wizards are carved into the
pillars on the facades of some of the buildings.

(This wizard looks like Walter Cronkite...
I had to chuckle in spite of myself.)
